Today, over 100 groups from B.C., Canada, and abroad belong to the Oil Free Coast Alliance. An oil spill in Canada’s Pacific Ocean would not just be a local problem. Marine mammals and migratory sea birds are essential elements of ecosystems in the United States, Mexico and Russia. Animals hurt or killed on the B.C. coast from an oil spill or from pollution would negatively affect the marine ecology in all those countries.
